What to Expect
Visiting any church for the first time can be a uncomfortable experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's here for my children? What can I expect? We would like to put you at ease. We want your first visit to Mountain View Baptist Church to be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable, for the whole family. Come and experience inspiring music, Bible messages, friendly people, and a place where you will feel welcome! Please reference the information below to help your first visit be enjoyable.
Finding nurseries and classes.
We would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for everyone in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located in the lobby and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
What's here for my children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child from birth through high school! During every service there are safe, clean, and well staffed nurseries for children three years old and under.
For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, Bible-centered classes on Sunday mornings. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well qualified teachers who desire to make church memorable for your child.
What is the Sunday morning schedule?
The Sunday morning worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so that we can help direct your family to the correct nurseries or classes. This will also give you some time time to meet the teachers of your family's classes. The worship service will provide you with beautiful and inspiring music, followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Newton. This service will be an hour in length.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Mountain View Baptist Church for members or guest. The ministry leaders dress in more traditional Sunday dress; however, our main goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable during your visit here!
Are there services at other times?
Yes. We have a Sunday evening service that begins at 5:00 p.m. Again, in this service you will enjoy special music as well as a challenge and helpful message from Pastor Newton. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. for a mid-week Bible study. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during one of these other service times.
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don't invite you to Mountain View Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there is something we missed on this list, just contact us, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether your new to the area and looking for a church home, or you have never attended church before, we hope your first visit at Mountain View Baptist Church will be wonderful!
We Exist to serve the Lord, you, and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you arrive! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
